back in the day, when the co came to the congregation, it was quite stressful for the elders and often, the rank and file.

ok this what took place yesterday and it so strange.. like most of you here my family have been devastated by the cult, half.

OK this what took place yesterday and it so strange.
Like most of you here my family have been devastated by the cult, half
in the cult and half never a JW. The half that never were JW's knows very well
about the shunning.
So yesterday my oldest sister best friend at the City of Hope hospital and she noticed
the name tag of one of the nurse, my sister maiden name.
So my sister friend asked, do you know Miss xxx (my sister)?
Nurse: yes she is my aunt.
sf: Oh! I know your family well, so james(me) is your uncle?
nurse: yes he is my uncle james.
sf: so how is he doing?
nurse: he is doing great.
My sister friend know all about the shunning of me over the years and how it has damaged
our family. It's been 27 years of shunning and since then I have great nephews , great nieces,
nephews and nieces I have never met and the majority we all live in the same area.
If this nurse(my niece by marriage) was standing behind me in line in the super market i would have
no idea who she was, I have never met her and they have been married for over 15 years.
My sister friend called my sister after returning from the hospital and told her, these people are sick.
She knows all to well about the cult...
I guess one positive outcome of this, they have heard of me..LOL

Nice Old Dears Tried to "Witness" to me Today

an older man and wife - ray and mary - got chatting to me today.

they were tourists admiring local wildlife.

i gave them a few tips on where to go to see some interesting things and it wasn't long before they were telling me about how awful the world is "nowadays" and paradise yadda yadda.

JW's have their school or training for over coming objections in the door
to door work,we have a school(here) to counter their objection that leave them speechless.
Just once I would love to here how to over come Apostates lies instead of running
away like a child with hands over your ears and yelling, it's a lie, la-la-la I can't
here you.

Has the Great Witness Trolley/Cart campaign produced ANY results?

i live between two cities that are big enough to have their own metropolitan trolley cart arrangements organised at circuit level.

the 3 congregations at the hall i attend have trolley schedule noticeboards.

i see trolleys in the high streets and markets locally.

I don't know if this is the case in other parts of the country, but in southern
California occasionally we have folks who set up tables for some bill to pass,
so they need signatures. They usual set up in front of banks, supermarket and Wal-Mart.
This create stiff competition for the JW Carts. Just a waste of time. Advertise, advertise
his name, give me a break. Most people think who in the hell is this Jehovah, he's not
in my Bible.

I believe it would have been better for our kids to tell them if you don't act right the
Boogeyman will get you. They will eventually grow out of that fairytale, but the damaged
create by the WT seems to continue for years. To tell a 7-8 years that all your class mates,
your grandparents, and other relatives will go up in smoke, that's horrible.

OrphanCrow: enjoyed your story, good for you. I wonder how many young folks
were damaged that came out of the 60's and 70's from the end of the world crap....

just come home from a weight loss class early.

it's 6 months since i da'd and two and a half years since i've been to a meeting.

there was a witness there (unless she has left, i wouldn't know) we made eye contact!

Peony: hang in there. You will eventually get at a stage where you will
say, bring me a JW elder and let me set him straight while looking at him
straight into his eyes.
